Window Treatments

These are powerful and can completely change the dynamic of a room.

To help with the room’s visual flow make sure they are hung correctly, not too short, not too long.  Hanging curtains higher than the window frame elongates the wall. The rod should be hung at a height that maintains an openness, the bottom should gently kiss the surface for an elegant and polished look.

Lighting

Light it up!  Create ambiance that says sit and stay a while. Think sconces and sculptural floor lamps. Add a mirror.  Mirrors reflect light and create the illusion of a larger space.

Wall Space

Don’t feel the need to fill every empty space, otherwise it can seem crowded and tight.  Plan out and place each furniture piece accordingly in the room to create a nice flow and a sense of warmth.

Bed in the Corner

Nobody puts “Baby” in the corner, or her bed!  It’s best to place your bed center on the wall, this leaves for a more open spacious and relaxing space.

Bathroom

Don’t fill the counter with clutter.  Put your stuff away in a drawer or cabinet or even buy an aesthetically pleasing organizer for the counter.  Organization is key, everything has its place, you know where it is and it’s easily accessible so you can get ready within a reasonable time. Keep it clean and simple.

At the end of the day, you want a comfy space to come home to, but also one that when you see it it makes you smile.  Surround yourself with the things that you love!
